  • What is Counselling/Psychotherapy ?

The therapeutic relationship is a professional relationship , where two people - the the therapist and the client- interact with each other. This interaction enables the client to reflect on areas in their life which they feel are problematic and find new patterns of relating and thinking that they are comfortable with. Consequently, the client chooses the course of action or way of thinking that leads to enhanced psychological well being.

Therapy not only involves remembering the past; it is also about the present.

  • How does therapy work?

In therapy, the therapeutic interaction enhances one's ability to put thoughts and feelings into words. This helps the client to think about and evaluate personal anxieties. The ability for self-knowledge and self advocacy increases, thus reducing self-limiting behaviour.

  • What Benefits can be Expected?

Living consists of relationships and interactions with other people.
If we can understand our patterns of behaviour and how these influence our choices, we gain the ability to choose our own type of existence. This enables us to choose our own destiny.
